Tahoe was amazing!!! Our whole family at emerald bay- Even a 4 mile hike round trip. Abby (4 yrs old) hiked the whole thing. With no snacks too. They were so amazing! Such a wonderful trip.

How is it that Summer goes by so fast? I look forward to summer and I miss my children when they go back to school. They are all growing too fast. I had so much fun with them. Our only regret is that we didn't make it to cousins and grandmas and grandpas. but maybe we will play hookie and go for a long weekend.

The Sweetest Spring!

I feel Like the last 12 months has been one long winter. The sun is starting to shine both figuratively and literally. I am amazed that my little ones have made it through this and seem to be more amazing to me everyday. My sweet husband has shown me once again his amazing strength and giving spirit. I am more in love with him more today than ever.

I guess I need to sum up our "long winter."

October of 2009 Aaron transferred to his new job, the kids a new school and all of us a new home and town,

We all were very ready for the change and loved the new place. We were expecting our fifth little one in April of 2010. In February we started to feel the effects of a move, new job and making new friends. Aaron's job was ok but the market still pretty unstable. Our oldest was not adjusting to the new school despite our original expectations since it was a "10" school and one of the best in the state. He felt the horrible backlash of a bully and a teacher who wouldn't objectively look at the situation. Our kindergartner came home daily and complained about her teacher who yelled at her daily. (seriously, tenure sounds like a terrible thing to me. "good teachers dont need tenure.") anyway, there are many amazing home school resources here. So I began to pray about what to do. I decided that I wanted to home school them. Being 8 months pregnant, having a 2 year old and a 4 year old at home I knew this was going to be a crazing thing but felt fed up with the "system". I prayed and prayed and got a very strong awnser. I am amazed how close our Heavenly Father is and wants what is best for us. My awnser was "no" _ I knew He had other plans for me. I guess I wanted the awnser to be yes so bad, I did it anyway. I think that I only made a rough storm a little worse. I didn't know what was to come. At least my children were with me. I did see improvements in their behavior, even if their education did not receive the attention I had planned on giving it.

All was going well. We had our 5th baby a beautiful and healthy little girl in April. She was great. I went through a lot of strife having to receive a total of 4 epidurals following the days she was born to correct the spinal headache from the original.

When we got home we were hopeful for a "normal" recovery.

What a good baby, so snuggly and sweet. At the 3 week mark I found a lump in my neck much like the one I found 10 years ago (ironic since I was only about 5 months from being able to buy life insurance). I told Aaron-we called a new dr the next day a begged for an appointment. After a series of tests, they told me it was only 3-5% chance of being cancer so I didn't really need to do anything. This struck me. Then as clear as day I knew they were wrong. The promptings of the spirit were clear and very strong in each step.

My Dr. said it was up to me if I wanted it removed for aesthetic reasons. I said I just wanted it out. Scheduled a surgery as soon as possible although the drs insisted there was no rush and initial pathology showed no cancer so they closed surgery and sent me home. The dr called me that night and said oops-we did find cancer in the secondary pathology but it was so small I could just leave the other side in. Instantly again there was no doubt to have the other side removed. We called and the next day went in for another surgery. This ones recovery was much worse especially with a 2 month old that was still nursing.

The dr called the next day and said"you must be psychic" there was cancer in both sides.

Then through a very long summer, fall and winter we have been working on getting hormone levels corrected. (who knew how important your thyroid was). Hee hee. Finally Finally starting to feel Normal. There were weeks I was so checked out. I am just so grateful my family is all ok.

So sorry to bore you with all the details but that is why this spring and each sunny day is especially sweet. The kids are in a new school with new teachers and new friends they love. I miss them very much but truly know that Heavenly Father has a plan for me and my family.

Thats why this spring is truly the sweetest spring!!!

I read a book that said kids today are considered to be consumers where as many years ago they were considered contributors. I have to say who's fault is that??? THE PARENTS! We desperately need to teach our little ones to contribute to our families, homes, schools, churches, society in general. It is so unfortunate that this is rare. So rare in fact that public schools have taken it upon themselves to teach children morals. (eek, what a scary thought). I guess when you have a child and expect someone else to raise them, that morals is included in the raising part. I am sure I am just ranting but I am not just crazy. I went on this website for moms, (should have typed in LDS or Christian moms, anyway, that my not have made much of a difference.) Anyway, It was a website for moms of large families. Aparently having 4 children is a lot these days even in the church (please don't take it the wrong way. I know some people can only have 1 or 2 or for whatever reason don't have more. That is between you and the Lord and I am in no way saying that you are less of a mom or more of a mom or anything to that effect.) I am just wondering when I became an insane person for having 4 or 5 or 6 or 7? I just am so frustrated by the fact that because I have 4 aparently I am going for "quantity rather than quality." Which I find soooooooooo offensive. Anyway I guess all I am saying is I wish there was more support in and out of the church for having more than 1 child. I feel kinda alone. and I only have 4.
which by the way I think they are all amazing and how incredible is it that Heavenly Father entrusted me with 4 of his beautiful spirits. I am so blessed. How refined might I be after my 8th...If I so Choose.. heee heee

It has been forever since I have written. SOOOOO much has happened. We went to Utah for the summer, saw lots of cousins. Played all summer. Watched lots of movies, went on lots of walks in the beautiful mountain air. Went to the childrens museum, cowabunga, rode ponies, played in the sand on Bear Lake, rode on the boat, golfed (poor little Ains got hit with a golf ball in the face... we are so lucky it was not an inch in any direction. It hit her right in the center of the cheek. We loved spending time with Grandparents. I think they had fun with us too. I am sure they are happy to have their house nice and crumb free. Hiette turned 1!!!!! We had a party for him in Orem with our families. It was so fun to share little things like that with them. We went to Bear Lake to spend a whole week with everyone in a beautiful home on the golf course. We had such a great time. I got to be close to meet a beautiful little neice the day she was born. We really did so much. What a great trip!!! I will post the pics soon.... Then when we got home we went to Santa Barbara for the Weekend, got home, Ainsley sliced her toe, Milan started 1st grade, Ainsley- Kindergarten, Abby got potty trained (again), And Hiette took 2 steps.... WOW. We are having a great time. I can't imagine why I don't post more often....

So I made the whole family get out of the house last sunday and see what beauty we could find in Visalia. We went about a block to this Walnut (I think) Orchard. For anyone who might want peace... please let me know what you think. be respectful.

I am amazed at all the HATE that is going on in the US right now. You tell me I HATE you because I disagree yet I am o.k. with you disagreeing with me. (but apparently I am the hateful one.) It makes me sad that those of us who are expected to be adults and be responsible enough to vote, act like children. Completely dramatic and totally emotional, not willing to take a deep rational breath and think, but rather just screaming "but, I WANT IT!!!". I don't understand why we cannot have different views and ideas and co-exsist. I respect and love others regardless of the fact that we highly disagree on many things. This doesn't mean that I am going to step lightly and not tell you that I disagree and lead you to believe that I agree with you. But it does mean that we can have polite conversation or even heated conversations, all the while being respectful and kind. But still disagree! Apparently this is far too much to ask. I find it absolutely devastating that you want me to be respectful of you but because I do not agree, you are incredibly disrespectful of me. Yet I will still be respectful of you and your beliefs. I am scared to raise my children in such a hypocritical world. And amazingly we live in the greatest nation on earth! I hope it stays the greatest!!!! Just wanted to know what you all think...

I usually use my blog simply to keep friends and family in contact but I am feeling especially political (I can hardly imagine why). So I would like to post this comment and I would love your response...

The kids dug a giant hole in the backyard. Milan used to call it a "shi-tuzzi" (jacuzzi, had to separate those words so as not to swear) . So they got in their skivies and filled the hole with water and made a mud "shi-tuzzi." They all were laughing so hard and they kept splashing Abby with the mud, but she would not get in. But she still got pretty muddy.

Yes we are a little bit crazy!!! But we sure had fun. This labor day we went camping. For real this time. And yes we did take all 4 kids! We went to Lake Huntington (So beautiful) with some friends from church (the Rasmussens, they have little ones about the same age as our herd). The kids played and played. We went on a hike to the Indian Pools and the kids (and some nutty adults) swam in what had to be snow run off. It was a great weekend of eating, hiking and playing in the dirt. The last night it got so cold that the kids and I abandoned Aaron to pack up and clean up camp all by himself. (Did I mention we brought so much stuff we had to bring 2 cars!!!!) It was a fun trip. I am sure we will do it again really soon... Hee Hee.

The weekend before last we thought it would be fun to get out of town. We went "Faux" camping at KOA in Santa Cruz and stayed in a cabin. It was so fun. The kids played and played with some friends they made across the way in the other cabin. Milan, Ainsley and Aaron slept in the loft on the floor. Abby, Hiette and Mommy were downstairs, no one got any sleep but we had a lot of fun. There was banana bikes, a little train ride, and a big playground.

Born July 23rd 2008 at 1:34pm 8lbs 7 oz 20.5 inches long. Mom and baby very healthy and happy. Hiette JamesYork is super loved by his brother and sisters so much so that we might fear for his safety. We are so blessed to have this little boy enter our family and we are so thankful that our Heavenly Father has seen fit to bless us with 4 amazing children. There were so many times when we thought there would be none. We truly feel the love of our Father in Heaven through each moment we have together as a family.

A family friend was nice enough to let us come up for air at her house in Ojai, Ca. It was fun to go see the house Laura grew up in. The craziest thing was how it was all exactly the same it had been 20 years before. Church was fun too even thought the kids were crazy and Aaron forgot his church close so he was approached as an investigator. After eating at Antonio's (a Krog family favorite) we went to the Ojai Raquet club. We relived Laura's
childhood in 1 day. On Sunday after church we went to Ventura Beach it was awesome and the weather was beautiful. There was a seal on the beach sunning itself. We thought it was dead but there was a sign to leave him alone. The kids loved to sit and stare at him. We wondered why we do not go to the beach more often. Maybe we will have some day trips soon... here are the pics.

Later that same day (after the temple trip we rushed home for Ainsley's Ballet recital. It was the cutest thing and despite Milan getting sick outside the theater and Abby not having had a nap we still had fun watching Ainsley's special show. She did great!

They even got to go sit in the waiting room and hear a member of the presidency speak. It was great! ... Milan had his first talk in Primary about a month ago! He wanted to wear his new suit and a tie. He loved it. It was so much fun to hear him and watch him. The talk was on the prophet. It was so neat to hear him bear his little testimony on our new Prophet. Then a few weeks later was asked to give another talk. This time on family. All he wanted to talk about was his cousins. Ainsley Ballerina, she loves to go to her class and will put on a little show of her ballet moves whenever you ask. She has her first recital in June. We are all so excited!!! Eeeek!!! It has been tooooooo long since I have been on here. Super busy as usual. But the latest update is ITS A BOY!!!! I tried to get the ultrasound pics on here but my scanner is on the fritz (or I have a mac that says it is supposed to be compatible with everything but of course you need to buy extra super expensive software to make it so) anyway, YEA!!! We are so excited and our first reaction was "Milan is going to be so excited to have a brother." Which of course he is and Ainsley just keeps telling me that she is going to snuggle him and kiss his head. They are all so excited. I love it!!!

It is "Cowboy Week" in Pre-K. Milan was so excited to be dressed up like a cowboy and be the special helper since he wants to be a "professional bull rider" and a scientist when he grows up. He is on his way.

He love wearing moms cowboy hat and grandmas antique, authentic cowboy jacket.

We love the California winters, (and friends with heated pools). But it was still a little chilly to stay out too long but the kids sure had fun!!!

Yes it is true Laura is not just getting chubby there it #4 in there. We are expecting on July 26th 2008. We are so excited for this blessed addition. We know all our children will have so much fun growing up together. I guess we (the parents) have resigned our selves to the fact that we will sleep when we are old.

Abby is loving every minute of her new found independence! Yeah she is finally walking!!! We are just as happy as she is.

Ainsley is Queen of the "office." Or at least making a big office mess.
She loves going to school and she loves being a big girl in primary! She is so smart and beautiful and growing so quick!

Milan Lost 2 teeth!!!!! He is so big! When he lost one his teacher said he had a window in his mouth and then when he lost the 2nd he said "look when I turn to the side its a door!" (Hee Hee)
The Tooth Fairy brought him a dollar with a note on it. The second tooth received a dollar from the Easter Bunny (at least that is who signed it. I think the Tooth Fairy was either drunk or really tired.
